Tragic biker death after smash near Essex pub
A 49-year-old motorcyclist has died following a collision with a car on Noak Hill Road yesterday afternoon.
Crash near Deers Rest pub
The Metropolitan Police were called just after 2:30pm on Saturday, August 9, after reports of a crash between a motorbike and a car close to the popular Deers Rest pub.
Emergency services treated the rider at the scene before rushing him to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Driver cooperates with police
The driver of the car stopped at the scene and is currently assisting officers with their investigation. So far, no arrests have been made.
The deceased man’s family have been informed of the tragic news.
Pub staff shaken by accident
The Deers Rest pub released a statement:
“Some of our team responded to the accident and were involved in providing support. As such, the accident has had a profound effect on them.”
The pub closed on Saturday evening but has since reopened.
Police launch appeal for witnesses
Detective Sergeant James Moody from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit urged anyone with information to come forward:
“We urge anyone with any information to please get in touch, even the smallest bit of detail could be helpful to our investigation. We are keen to obtain any dash cam or CCTV in order to piece together what happened.”
