Whyteleafe in Lockdown After Suspicious Device Found

A major road closure is causing chaos in Whyteleafe tonight (Tuesday, 12 August) after a suspicious device was discovered at a building site.

Police and Rescue Teams on High Alert

Officers rushed to the scene around 3:10pm. Surrey Police, Surrey Fire and Rescue Service, and a bomb disposal unit are now on site, working together to secure the area.

Whyteleafe Hill Shut Down – Avoid the Area

Whyteleafe Hill has been closed in both directions, with a safety cordon in place. Motorists are urged to find alternative routes to dodge the disruption.

“We are currently dealing with a report of a suspicious device found at a building site in Whyteleafe. Please avoid the area while we work with partner agencies to ensure public safety,” said a Surrey Police spokesperson.
