Police were called to St Mungo’s Primary School in Glasgow after an incident involving a member of the public.
In a letter issued to parents and carers on Wednesday, the school confirmed that staff acted swiftly and contacted police after an individual entered the school grounds.
No Pupils at Risk
Headteacher reassured families that no children were present or at risk at any point during the incident.
“I wanted to reassure our families that no children in the school were present or at risk at any point,” the statement read.
“The incident involved a member of the public and our school staff acted swiftly in the circumstances and called the police. As this is now a police investigation, I am not able to share many details.”
Ongoing Police Investigation
Police Scotland has been informed and an investigation is under way. The school said more details would be shared when possible.
The headteacher added:
“The safety of our children and staff is and remains our priority and I know that the presence of the police will have caused concern. Thank you for the continued support of our school community.”
Community Reassurance
Local parents expressed concern at the visible police presence, but the school has emphasised that swift staff action ensured the situation was brought under control quickly.
