Police appeal after Man set Car on Fire with Driver in it at Locksheath Centre

Were you at the Locks Heath Centre at around 3.45pm this afternoon (June 12)? Police appealing for information after an 18-year-old man was parked in the car park at the Locks Heath Centre. A 21-year-old man from Locks Heath has been arrested in connection with this incident and is currently being questioned by officers. At around 3.45pm today (Sunday, June 12) an 18-year-old man was sat in his car in the carpark at the Locks Heath Centre. Another vehicle pulled up alongside him and a man got out and approached the victim’s car. The offender then poured petrol onto the victims’ car and set it alight. The offender then made off. The victim got out of his car and was not injured. Detective Sergeant Damian Glendenning, said: “I am appealing for anyone who was in the Locks Heath Centre at the time, who may have seen or heard something connected to this incident, to come forward and speak to us. We know there were a lot of people in the area at the time, so it is very likely a number of people would have witnessed what happened. “We are treating this as an isolated.” Anyone with information should call Fratton CID on 101 quoting ref #646
