Man Fights for Life After Shovel Attack at Cobham M25 Services

Chaos erupted at Cobham Motorway Services on the M25 Monday afternoon after a man was savagely attacked with a shovel. Police swiftly shut down the busy service station following the brutal assault.

Shocking Shovel Attack Leaves Victim Seriously Injured

The assault happened just after 3.20pm near junction 9 Leatherhead and junction 10 A3. Two men reportedly attacked the victim before speeding off in a works van, leaving the man collapsed on the floor with severe head wounds.

Emergency crews raced to the scene. An ambulance and air ambulance landed at around 3.30pm. The victim was rushed to St George’s Hospital in Tooting, where he is fighting for his life.

“The man was on the floor in a heap and he looked pretty bad. The air ambulance and medics were working on him for a long time,” a witness said.

Cobham Services Sealed Off, Police Hunt Attackers

Police locked down the entire service area, including the Shell petrol station, which remains closed with no fuel available. Staff were evacuated through a back exit as officers scoured the scene.

Scene of crime teams searched a blue Ford Focus and conducted a fingertip sweep of the area. Officers have yet to confirm if any suspects have been arrested.

A Surrey Police spokesperson said: “We are in attendance following a call about a man with serious injuries. The rest of the services remain fully open. Anyone with information should contact 101 quoting reference P17159125.”
