A dramatic rescue is underway on Hayling Island after a 78-year-old pensioner got stuck in the mud while driving off a slipway this afternoon.
Pensioner Traps Himself in Muddy Mess
The elderly driver tried to self-rescue his vehicle after sliding off the slipway but ended up stuck fast in the mud. Emergency services were called just after 4:30 PM on Friday.

Crews are now battling against the incoming tide to free both the pensioner and his vehicle before the situation worsens.
