A ruthless arms dealer has been slammed with a massive jail sentence after being caught red-handed selling firearms. Allan Hughes will spend six years and nine months behind bars, thanks to a top-notch police operation.
Specialist Team Snaps Up Dangerous Dealer
In June 2024, the Organised Crime Partnership – a powerful team made up of the National Crime Agency (NCA) and Police Scotland – swooped in to arrest Allan Hughes. Just weeks earlier, officers had seized multiple devices from him, packed full of damning evidence.
Encrypted Chats Expose Huge Haul of Guns and Drugs
One of the devices contained thousands of encrypted messages, revealing photos and videos of firearms, ammo, and drugs Hughes was peddling. Hughes is no stranger to the system, already doing time for previous drug offences.
“This sentence sends a clear message that weapons and drugs dealers will be caught and punished,” said a National Crime Agency spokesperson.
Justice has dealt Hughes a crushing blow. His hefty sentence sends a stark warning to organised crime gangs: the law is watching, and it’s ready to strike hard.
