Luton Man Jailed for Sharing Daesh Execution Videos Online
Ibrahim Anderson, 44, from Luton, Bedfordshire, has been locked up for eight years after bombshell evidence showed he shared brutal Daesh execution videos and extremist propaganda online.
Crackdown on Terrorist Propaganda
- Arrested in October 2020 by Met Counter Terrorism Command and Eastern Region Specialist Operations Unit
- Found guilty of 15 terrorism offences at the Old Bailey on 11 September
- Issued a five-year Serious Crime Prevention Order (SCPO) on release
Investigators uncovered that Anderson sent graphic videos of beheadings and other acts of terror to a third party in June and July 2020. He also created a Facebook page promoting Daesh’s aims.
Breach of Release Conditions
Despite being jailed in 2016 for a separate terror offence, Anderson failed to declare an email account he used to send the extremist material—breaking strict notification requirements.
Judge and Police Warning
During a 7 April 2021 hearing via video link, Anderson pleaded guilty to:
- One count of Breach of Part 4 Notification Requirement (Counter-Terrorism Act 2008)
- Ten counts of Dissemination of Terrorist Publications (Terrorism Act 2006)
- Four counts of Possession of Terrorist Information (Terrorism Act 2000)
“Anderson freely shared extreme Islamist propaganda online, depicting graphic terrorist violence. I have no doubt that Anderson poses a considerable risk to the public, and people are safer now that he is behind bars,” said Detective Chief Superintendent James Harman of the Met’s Counter Terrorism Command.
