Woman Mowed Down And Killed on the Reading Inner Distribution Road (IDR)

A woman has sadly died of serious injuries after being struck by a White Range Rover on the busy Inner Distribution Road in Reading in the early hours of Saturday morning. The road was closed until the early hours of Saturday morning

_psEmbed(“https:///uknip.photoshelter.com”); A taxi driver claims that he had to take evasive action to avoid a collision with the same woman who was clearly in drink near to Queen Road in Reading prior to the fatal Collision. The driver who asked not to be named had a fare onboard and had to take action to avoid hitting the woman who was aged about 35-40 and was wearing a big coat. She was walking in one of the lane on the IDR just after before 1am on Saturday morning. Bystanders and an other taxi driver stopped and battled to save the woman life. One motorist attempted to give the woman mouth to mouth at the side of the road before the arrival of the emergency services who arrived very quickly the driver said. The woman was in a very bad way. Lots of other motorist stopped to help. Two people put the woman on her back whilst a second woman gave her (The victim) mouth to mouth. Emergency services attended the incident but the Woman died at the scene. Police Enquiries are ongoing at this time and Police are appealing for witnesses to contact them. Officer spent a number of hours at the crash scene carrying out investigations. The White Range Rover was taken away on a flat bed truck just after 4am and the road was reopened.
