Isle of Wight Neighbourhood Police Officers arrest Violent Man after abusing Off duty NHS Staff

Neighbourhoods officers from Hampshire Constabulary have detained a violent man, who abused a member of NHS staff, whilst on their walk home on Tuesday. Members of the public came to officers aid along with a member of the St Johns Ambulance staff who was on his way home and watch the drama unfold on Coppins Bridge Roundabout. Video captured by a driver using the roundabout the shows the man being pinned to the ground following a violent outburst toward some off-duty NHS workers. [su_frame align=”center”]

[/su_frame] The Man from Lake was taken to Newport Police station for questioning over the offences. A spokesman for Hampshire Constabulary said: “A 24-year-old man from Lake was arrested at Coppins Bridge roundabout shortly before 5.30pm on Tuesday (July 31). “He was arrested on suspicion of obstructing a constable in the execution of their duty and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour to cause harassment alarm or distress in a public place under section 5 of the public order act.
