Fire Rips Through Glass Factory in Canning Town

Massive Blaze Erupts at Industrial Estate

Eight fire engines and 60 firefighters battled a fierce blaze at a glass manufacturing warehouse on Lanrick Road, Canning Town, this afternoon.

The fire tore through half of the glass hardening plant on the ground floor. It also damaged part of a mezzanine floor and the roof, leaving extensive destruction in its wake.

No Injuries Reported, Cause Under Investigation

Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. Fire Brigade 999 Control Officers received 11 emergency calls during the incident.

The alarm was raised at 12:30pm, and firefighters brought the blaze under control by 1:52pm.

Firefighters From Across East London Join the Fight

Crews from Plaistow, Millwall, Shadwell, East Greenwich, and other nearby stations rushed to the scene to tackle the inferno.

The fire service has launched an investigation into the cause of the devastating fire.
