Three charged following Ashford Robbery

Three teenagers are to appear in court charged in connection with a robbery in Kennington, Ashford. Kent Police was called to the Co-op in Faversham Road at 7.33am on Tuesday 26 February 2019 where it was reported a bottle of alcohol had been stolen during a robbery. A short time later on the same day, officers received a call that a teenage boy had been assaulted in the Park Road area, he was taken to a local hospital for treatment. On Wednesday 27 February, officers charged three boys, all aged 17 and from Ashford, with counts of robbery, theft of a bicycle, and causing grievous bodily harm with intent. Two were charged with possession of a bladed article in a public place, and one of the teenagers is also facing a fifth charge of assault of an emergency worker. One of the teenagers has been released on bail to appear at Canterbury Youth Court on 1 April. The other two appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on Thursday 28 February and will next appear at Canterbury Youth Court on Monday 4 March.
