Three Teens Charged in Ashford Robbery and Assault Spree

Three 17-year-old boys from Ashford are facing multiple charges after a robbery and violent assault shocked the town.

Early Morning Raid at Co-op

Kent Police responded to a burglary at the Co-op on Faversham Road at 7:33am on Tuesday 26 February 2019. A bottle of alcohol was stolen during the robbery, sparking a swift police response.

Teen Assaulted Shortly After

Just hours later, officers were called to an incident in Park Road, where a teenage boy was assaulted. The victim was rushed to a local hospital for urgent treatment.

Three Arrested and Charged

On Wednesday 27 February, police charged the trio with robbery, theft of a bicycle, and grievous bodily harm with intent. Two were also charged with carrying a bladed article in public, while one faces an additional count of assaulting an emergency worker.

Court Dates Set

  • One teen, released on bail, will appear at Canterbury Youth Court on 1 April.
  • The other two appeared at Margate Magistrates’ Court on 28 February and are next due at Canterbury Youth Court on 4 March.
