Family Mourns ‘Good, Kind Man’ Taken Too Soon

“It was just a normal evening. He had worked in the coffee shop, went to the gym and had a shower. He went out as usual but he never came back,” said his sister Hatice, 37.

“We will not stop until we get justice. My brother was a good, kind man. He was loving and caring and always laughing and warm. He would have stood up for himself, he wouldn’t have just given up his phone but he never would have tackled someone if he knew they had a knife.”

Barış was a devoted Manchester United fan, a talented artist, and an ambitious businessman. He had recently worked a shift at the family’s coffee shop and was preparing to take over the business with big plans for the future.

Tragic Loss Shakes Kurdish Family

The Küçük family, originally Kurdish, moved to London in 1992. Hatice described the heartbreak of losing her brother just as he was about to revamp the family business.

“He never got a chance to do it, it’s heartbreaking.”

Another sister added, “It’s bizarre, my sister is going to work on this project and our brother is killed. You never think it is going to happen to you.”

Police continue to urge anyone with information about the stabbing and robbery to come forward as the hunt for the knifeman intensifies.
