Man Brutally Attacked in Epsom’s Early Hours
Police are hunting witnesses after a vicious assault rocked Epsom at 3.20am last Sunday (9 June).
Altercation Sparks Violent Attack
The victim, a man in his 20s, and his friend were walking near High Street’s Clocktower Cars after leaving Fever and Boutique Nightclub. They were carrying a memorable inflatable microphone when a group of six or seven young men, all wearing black Nike hoodies, approached.
One of the group threw water on the victim’s friend, triggering a heated confrontation. The victim stepped in to help but was shoved to the ground, then stamped and kicked repeatedly. Thankfully, three passers-by intervened and stopped the assault.
Suspects Flee on Foot
The attackers, described as six or seven white males plus one black male aged 16-20, all in black hoodies, fled on foot towards Station Approach.
The victim suffered serious injuries, including a broken arm, but is now recovering after hospital treatment. His friend also had minor injuries but has been discharged.
