Ashford Paedophile Snared with Toys and Sweets for Young Victims Jailed for 6 Years

Ashford sex offender Martin Freeman, 51, has been locked up for six years after police caught him with bags of toys and sweets intended for the young girls he planned to abuse.

Undercover Sting Busts Freeman Before Abuse Could Happen

Freeman, formerly of Oakenpole, Ashford, admitted arranging to sexually abuse two children after chatting online with an undercover officer posing as “Tom,” who claimed to have two young nieces aged 3 and 7.

The pair arranged to meet at a carpark next to an Ashford hotel at 6pm on August 1. But cops arrested Freeman before he could get near the girls.

Discovery of Disturbing Gifts Reveals His Sinister Intent

Police searching Freeman’s car found a bag containing a unicorn soft toy, hair accessories, and sweets — sinister gifts meant to lure the young victims.

In a chilling confession during interview, Freeman admitted he intended to have sexual contact with the girls and brought gifts to gain their trust.

Detective Warns Community as Freeman Faces Justice

“Freeman is a danger to children and presents a risk to the community,” said Detective Sergeant Rob Grieve of Kent Police’s Paedophile Online Investigation Team.

“Thankfully, our undercover officer identified him before any harm was done. Freeman pleaded guilty at his first court appearance and will be on the sex offenders register when released.”
