Canterbury’s city centre was plunged into chaos this afternoon as police rushed to a stabbing at the busy taxi rank on Canterbury Lane.

Witnesses say a huge fight broke out just after 4pm involving a large group of delivery riders. The violent scrap quickly escalated, leaving one man with a stab wound and two others injured.
Emergency Services Swarm the Scene
Paramedics from the South East Coast Ambulance Service were called in to treat the victims on site while police sealed off the area. Several road closures remain in place, triggering disruption to local traffic.
Police Launch Investigation into Disturbance
Kent Police was called at 4.10pm on 22 January 2020 to a report of a disturbance involving a group of men in a car park off Canterbury Lane,” a spokesman said.
“One man suffered an injury consistent with a stab wound and is currently being treated at the scene by medical professionals. Officers are in attendance and carrying out enquiries to establish the circumstances surrounding the incident and the identities of those involved.”
