Camden Killer Caught: Man Found Guilty of Murder in Double Stabbing Spree

Godwin Lunghy Convicted for Fatal Attacks

A brutal night of violence in Camden has ended with a murder conviction. Godwin Lunghy, 19, from Maple Street N17, was found guilty of murdering 20-year-old Sadiq Aadam Mohammed and charged with violent disorder at Pembury Circus, East London.

The attacks unfolded on 20 February 2018, leaving two young men dead within hours. Lunghy is set to be sentenced on 6 April.

Two Victims Stabbed to Death in Hours

  • Abdikarim Hassan, 17, was fatally stabbed on Bartholomew Road NW5 at 8.30pm and died at the scene shortly after.
  • Less than two hours later, Sadiq Mohammed was found dying from stab wounds on Malden Road NW5 and was pronounced dead on the spot despite emergency attempts to save him.

Between these murders, attackers also assaulted an unidentified man in Hackney and another 17-year-old who survived a stabbing on Aldenham Street.

Co-Conspirators Sentenced to Life

Two other men involved have already been locked up. Isaiah Popoola, 20, sentenced to life with at least 28 years for manslaughter and murder, and Ben Drummond, 20, received life with a minimum of 23 years.

Both tried to dodge the charges with lies—Popoola denied presence but was linked via stolen van keys and blood evidence; Drummond falsely claimed he was asleep and fled to Bedford after the attacks.

Detective Blasts ‘Orgy of Street Violence’

“Lunghy, Popoola and Drummond went out that night with the express intention of killing people,” said Detective Chief Inspector John Hughes. “They hunted down Abdikarim and Sadiq, brutally stabbing them while masked and heavily outnumbering their victims.”

Hughes urged anyone with information on others involved to come forward. “Nothing can bring back Abdikarim and Sadiq, but we must hold all responsible accountable.”

Flight Abroad Ends in Arrest

After the bloodshed, Lunghy fled to France. Thanks to cooperation between the National Crime Agency and French police, he was tracked down, arrested, and extradited back to the UK to face justice.

Judge Slams ‘Shocking’ Violence

Judge Richard Marks QC described the rampage as “an orgy of street violence” during the sentencing of Popoola and Drummond.

He added, “Whatever fired you up that night, the nature and extent of violence was truly shocking.”

The hunt to bring other accomplices to justice continues. Anyone with information should contact the Met’s Homicide and Major Crime Command immediately.
