Man Arrested After 12 Vehicles Torched in Ramsgate Rampage

A shocking night of arson in Ramsgate has ended with a man in custody. Police swooped after a spree of 12 vehicles were set ablaze across the town overnight.

Ford Transit Van Ignites First Fire

Kent Police were alerted around 10.20pm on Saturday, 11 April 2020, when a Ford Transit van caught fire on Broad Street. Officers quickly found more flames ripping through parked cars nearby.

Multiple Fires Across Ramsgate

Investigations revealed seven more vehicles ablaze around Marlborough Road and Vale Square, plus four more on Clarendon Gardens. The fiery scenes sparked major concern across the community.

18-Year-Old Arrested After CCTV Tip-Off

Police reviewed CCTV footage and arrested an 18-year-old man near the area at 11.35pm on suspicion of arson. He remains held as enquiries continue.

Police Call for Witnesses to Help Crack Case

Superintendent Emma Banks said: “There have been several suspicious vehicle fires in Thanet recently. Our detectives are working hard to find any connections between these incidents.”
