Police Seek Info on Grey Jaguar After Kilburn Shooting That Killed Jeffrey Wegbe
Almost a week after 26-year-old Jeffrey Wegbe was fatally shot in Kilburn, detectives have released an image of a grey Jaguar XF Estate linked to the case. They urge anyone with information to come forward immediately.
Detectives Chase Crucial Lead on Grey Jaguar
Detective Inspector James Howarth, leading the investigation, made a direct appeal:
“I am urgently appealing for information about the movements of this grey Jaguar XF Estate on Tuesday 11 and Wednesday 12 August. Did you see it in the area or in the moments before or after Jeffrey was killed? If you did, or if you have any other information about this car, my officers and I need to hear from you. Please don’t hesitate to get in touch — your tip could be the key to justice for Jeffrey and his family.”
House-to-House Enquiries as Manhunt Intensifies
Officers will return to Hansel Road on Tuesday, 18 August, to conduct house-to-house enquiries as part of the witness appeal. The police are keen to gather any detail, no matter how minor, to piece together what happened on that tragic night.
Tragic Shooting in Kilburn – Jeffrey Dead at Scene
- Police were called shortly after midnight on Wednesday 12 August to reports of a shooting on Hansel Road, NW6.
- Paramedics and officers found Jeffrey with a gunshot wound to the chest.
- Despite desperate efforts, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Jeffrey’s next of kin have been informed and are supported by specialist officers. A post-mortem examination is planned.

Jeffrey’s family released a heartfelt statement:
“Our beloved Jeffrey was killed on Wednesday morning in a senseless and violent attack. We are distraught by this news and ask you to keep us in your thoughts and prayers. We would also like to thank the family, police, and wider community for their support during this terrible time.”

The Met’s Specialist Crime Command is leading the homicide probe. DI Howarth urged anyone with information to speak up:
“A significant number of officers will be around Hansel Road speaking to residents about what they witnessed. No detail is too small — your information will be treated with the strictest confidence.”
