Paedophile Richard McAdam Jailed for 11 Years in Child Sex Abuse Case
Richard McAdam, 60, from Rixton Grove, Thornton, was locked up at Preston Crown Court today (June 1) after being convicted of 20 horrific sexual offences against children. The vile predator had denied the charges but was found guilty following a December trial.
Decades-Old Abuse Exposed
McAdam was first arrested in August 2017 after a victim came forward alleging he raped her in 2001 when she was just 12 years old. Police later uncovered a second victim who revealed he indecently assaulted her between 1995 and 2000.

Dark Past Revealed: Links to Child Exploitation in Far East
This is not McAdam’s first brush with the law. Back in 2014, he was jailed for four-and-a-half years after trying to procure a young girl for prostitution from the Philippines. He had connections with a criminal network that paid for child sex shows in Asia, some cruelly broadcast live online.
Police worldwide swooped on McAdam’s Blackpool home during a global probe and found he had accessed indecent images of children. Disturbingly, he also communicated with a man in bristol/" title="Bristol" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Bristol about abusing a four-year-old girl.
Multiple Charges and Guilty Plea
McAdam pleaded guilty to:
- Arranging or facilitating child prostitution
- Attempting to arrange a child sex offence
- Eight offences related to making indecent photographs of a child
Despite his past convictions and clear links to child exploitation, McAdam returned to criminal behaviour, showing no remorse.
His latest 11-year prison sentence sends a strong message: those who abuse children will face justice.
