Man in His Fifties Found Dead in Reading Home
Police were called to a house on Oxford Road, Reading, at around 4.55am on Thursday (12/11), where they discovered a man in his fifties had sadly died.
Investigation Ongoing, Cause of Death Unclear
The victim’s next of kin have been informed and are receiving support from officers. A post-mortem carried out the following day (13/11) was inconclusive, and formal identification is still pending.
The police have lifted the scene watch, but the death remains unexplained. Chief Inspector Dave, Reading’s Crime Manager, said:
“We continue to investigate the circumstances around this death which at this time is being treated as unexplained.
“Our thoughts remain with the man’s family at this difficult time.
“Further forensic work is needed to determine how this man died, which may take some time.
“The three men initially arrested have now been released under investigation.
“Neighbourhood patrols will continue in the area and anyone with concerns is encouraged to speak to our officers.”
