Knife-Wielding Thief Strikes Four Times in One Night in Bournemouth
Series of Robberies Rock Bournemouth Streets
Four robberies hit Bournemouth on the night of Tuesday 24 November 2020. In each attack, a man brandishing a knife threatened victims and demanded their mobile phones. Shockingly, he also forced them to reset the devices before handing them over.
The first strike happened near Lansdowne Roundabout at 9.25pm. The second followed at East Cliff by Bournemouth Beach around 9.35pm. The third took place at the junction of Lansdowne Road and Holdenhurst Road at 11pm. The final robbery of the night was near Asda at St Pauls Roundabout, roughly 11.15pm.
Suspect Description & Modus Operandi
Police describe the offender as a black man in his late 20s, approximately six feet tall. He wore a dark blue Puffa-style jacket, a dark green beanie hat, black trousers, and dark shoes at the time.
All victims on 24 November were men in their 20s. A similar robbery occurred six days later, on Monday 30 November at 11.30pm in Howard Road, where the victim was a man in his 40s.
Police Hunt Ongoing – Can You Help?
Detective Constable Christian Bryant from Dorset Police’s Priority Crime Team said: “We are carrying out a number of enquiries to identify who is responsible for these robberies. We are treating the incidents as linked and believe it is the same offender involved.
“We have obtained a CCTV image of a man we would like to speak to as part of our investigation. I appreciate it is not the best quality, but I am hopeful someone may be able to recognise him.
“I would urge anyone with information as to this man’s identity, or anything else that might assist our enquiries, to please contact us.”
