Police race after stolen car in daring early-morning chase in Kent!

Burglary Sparks High-Speed Pursuit

Just after 2.15am on Saturday 11 March, officers rushed to a Birchington home after a break-in and a car theft outside.

The stolen vehicle was spotted in Margate under an hour later. When police tried to stop it, the driver took off, triggering a tense chase. A stinger device was deployed to bring the pursuit to an end.

Two Youths Nabbed and Charged

Two suspects were caught and charged in connection with the incident:

  • Lennie Edge, 19, from Tottenham, north London, faces charges of burglary, motor vehicle theft, dangerous driving, driving while disqualified, no insurance, and possession of a class B drug.
  • Huseyin Yesildal, 18, from Mitcham, south London, is charged with burglary, motor vehicle theft, possession of a knife, and possession of a class B drug.

Faces in Court

Both appeared at Folkestone Magistrates’ Court on Monday 13 March. They were remanded in custody and will next face Canterbury Crown Court on Tuesday 11 April.
