Matthew John Okorie, 25, and Sunday Sylvester, 22, were slapped with charges under the Merchant Shipping Act 1995 for conduct endangering ships. They made a court appearance at southampton/" title="Southampton" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked">Southampton Magistrates and have been locked up ahead of their next hearing.

Next Court Date: Southampton Crown Court, 29 January 2021.

Five More Men Under Investigation

Meanwhile, five additional suspects tied to attempts to seize or control the ship by force remain on police bail. They are held under Border Force powers as Hampshire Constabulary digs deeper into the incident. Their bail runs until 25 January 2021.
