Massive Rescue Operation Launched
A sombre night for Kent as rescue teams from Deal, Dover, and Folkestone rushed to a wooded cliffside between Dover and Deal. The UK Coastguard at Dover managed the large-scale incident, deploying the Rescue 163 helicopter from Lydd to the scene.
Coastguard Team Faces Horror on the Cliffs
Volunteers were scrambled at around 5.30pm to St Margarets, Kent. Using a rope pulley system, a coastguard team descended the steep cliffs to reach a person in distress. Tragically, the individual was found to be beyond help and declared incompatible with life.
