Burglar Busted in Nottingham After String of Thefts
Raid on City Flats and Dunkirk House
Police have charged Paul McIntosh, 41, with five burglaries and one robbery following a wave of break-ins across Nottingham. The suspects’ spree targeted two city centre flats and a house in Dunkirk between 20-28 January 2023.
Stolen goods included a gaming console, laptops, iPads, an iPhone, speaker, AirPods, a bicycle, and even a safe stuffed with cash and a bank card.
Office and Shop Thefts Rock Nottingham
The crime wave didn’t stop there. On 18 January, thieves forced their way into the National Justice Museum’s office on High Pavement, making off with a laptop, Kindle, speaker, and harmonica.
Two days later, an employee’s rucksack was pinched from the office of Waitrose on Milton Street. Meanwhile, on 6 January, a security guard faced threats and was shoved by a man stealing two bottles of spirits from Tesco in Carlton Hill.
Suspect Nabbed and Charged
McIntosh was caught by patrolling officers in Nottingham city centre on 3 February. After charging, he was remanded in custody and is set to appear at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on Monday 5 February 2023.
Police Vow Justice for Victims
Detective Sergeant James Hirst said: “This is a significant development in our investigation into these despicable crimes which have had a detrimental impact on residents and businesses.
“While our inquiries remain ongoing, I hope our diligent work to seek justice for these victims shows how seriously Nottinghamshire Police treats reports of this nature. People can be reassured we will continue to work hard to bring offenders in our communities to account.”
