Detectives have identified the man fatally stabbed in Deptford as 22-year-old Shevaun Sorrell. The shocking attack happened late on Saturday, 25 August, near the junction of Creek Road and Deptford Church Street, SE8.

Tragic Late-Night Stabbing

Police were called at around 11:45pm after reports of a man found unresponsive with stab wounds. Officers and London Ambulance Service rushed to the scene and began CPR immediately. Despite desperate efforts, Shevaun died in hospital just before 1am.

Hunt On For Attackers

The Homicide and Major Crime Command are leading the probe. Detective Chief Inspector Michael Norman said:

“Sadly another young life has been senselessly lost to violence. The victim’s family are shattered and we’re working hard to catch those responsible.”

Detectives are urging anyone who saw an argument or fight between two or more males before the stabbing to come forward. They’re also appealing for CCTV or dashcam footage from the area.

Police Appeal for Witnesses

Detective Norman added:

“Think carefully—were you nearby around that time? Did you spot anyone fleeing or acting suspiciously? We need your information urgently.”
