Man in His 50s Found Dead After St Johns Road Fight
Police were called to a disturbance at an address on St Johns Road at 10.11pm on Monday, 25 April. Officers arrived to find two men with serious injuries. Tragically, a man in his 50s was pronounced dead at the scene.
Arrests Made but Two Women Released Without Charge
A 29-year-old woman and a 52-year-old woman from the Isle of Wight were initially arrested on suspicion of murder. Both have since been released without charge. A 36-year-old man, also arrested on suspicion of murder, remains in hospital with injuries from the incident.
Police Maintain Heavy Presence, Investigation Ongoing
Superintendent Jim Pegler said: “The investigation into this remains ongoing, and you can expect to see a continued police presence at the scene on St Johns Road and surrounding areas as officers carry out enquiries.
“We believe this was an isolated, contained incident with no wider risk to the public.
“We thank the local community for their patience and ask people not to speculate about the circumstances or identities involved. We will provide further updates when possible.”
