Blaze Erupts at Whitstable Harbour Commercial Building
Firefighters are battling a massive blaze at a commercial building right on the edge of Whitstable Harbour. Flames are roaring from a warehouse next to the town’s famous fish market, sending thick smoke into the air.
Massive Fire Response in Action
Ten fire engines and a height vehicle from Kent Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene shortly after 1.30pm on Thursday. The warehouse, which is used to cook fish, went up in flames quickly, prompting a major emergency response.
A road closure is in place to help crews tackle the inferno, and a high-volume pump has been brought in to assist with dousing the fire.
Firefighters Make Steady Progress
Kent Fire and Rescue Service remains at the scene of a fire at a commercial premises in Whitstable Harbour. Ten fire engines and a height vehicle are in attendance, and crews are making steady progress, using hose reel jets and compressed air foam to tackle the fire,” a spokesperson said.
