Massive Blaze Rips Through Chatham Docks Warehouse
A huge fire erupted at Chatham Docks early this morning, sending thick smoke billowing across the skyline. Emergency crews raced to the scene around 4 a.m. and remain battling the inferno.
Residents Urged to Keep Windows and Doors Shut
Authorities have warned locals near Chatham Docks to keep windows and doors closed as smoke continues to drift over the area. Kent Fire and Rescue confirmed the blaze is still active but under control.
Firefighters Making ‘Good Progress’ Against Huge Warehouse Fire
Ten fire engines, plus specialist units including a bulk water carrier, high volume pump, height vehicle, and technical rescue team are tackling the blaze from both air and ground. Firefighters have surrounded the fire, using hose reels, main jets, and ground monitors to douse the flames.
“Due to the volume of 999 calls, we want to thank the public and state we are aware of this incident,” a Kent Fire spokesperson said.
No Injuries Reported – Cause Unknown
Thankfully, no injuries have been reported. The cause of the massive fire remains under investigation.
