Tragic death of 'Wiggy' strikes Fareham community

Ian Symes, 34, known affectionately as ‘Wiggy’, was found dead at the recreation ground on Hillson Drive, Fareham, yesterday morning.

Welfare Concern Sparks Emergency Response

At 10:25 a.m., police and the South Central Ambulance Service rushed to the scene following a welfare concern. Despite their efforts, Ian was pronounced dead at the site.

Family Mourns Loss

Wiggy’s family issued a heartfelt statement today:

“We are overwhelmed by the tributes and flowers left at the field. This is a tragic incident, and police are still investigating the circumstances. Many people will miss him.”

The family added: “We would appreciate it if everyone would respect our family’s wishes, leave us alone, and give us time to grieve.”
