Chris Kaba, 21, Shot Dead by Police After High-Speed Chase
Friends have identified the man fatally shot by officers following a police chase as rapper Chris Kaba, 21. Social media tributes are pouring in, mourning the young man who was killed in Streatham Hill.
Last Contact Before Tragedy
One close friend, who asked to remain anonymous, revealed he had been talking to Chris and had even arranged an online football game before the shooting. “I kept calling him after, but he didn’t answer,” he said. Friends gathered at the scene demanding answers on why Chris had to die.
Details of the Police Chase and Shooting
On Monday, September 5th, at 9.51pm, specialist firearms officers pursued a suspect vehicle in Lambeth. The chase ended in Kirkstall Gardens, Streatham Hill, where the vehicle was stopped after tactical contact.
During the incident, a police officer discharged a firearm, hitting an occupant of the car, a man in his twenties. Emergency services, including the london/" title="London" data-wpil-keyword-link="linked" data-wpil-monitor-id="2113">London Ambulance Service and London Air Ambulance, rushed to the scene and provided first aid.
Chris was rushed to hospital but tragically died at 00:16hrs. Authorities are still trying to notify his next of kin.

Police have set up cordons and road closures around the area. The Metropolitan Police’s Directorate of Professional Standards has launched a probe, as is standard procedure.
The Independent Office for Police Conduct (IOPC) is now conducting an independent investigation into the shooting. They have been approached for further comment, with the inquiry ongoing.
