Dramatic Coastguard Rescue Call After Fisherman Spotted in Water at Lancing

The Shoreham Coastguard Team were paged at 1:11pm, along with Littlehampton Coastguard and RNLI Shoreham, after an ambulance crew spotted a person fully clothed entering the water near The Perch on Brighton Road, Lancing.
False Alarm as Fisherman Found Safe
RNLI’s inshore lifeboat was first on the scene and quickly confirmed the individual was a fisherman in wading gear. No other casualties were found in the area.
All Units Stand Down
All emergency assets were stood down shortly after. The call was made with good intent, ensuring public safety.
