Blaze Ravages South Norwood Home – 25 Firefighters Battle Flames
Four fire engines and about 25 firefighters scrambled to a devastating house fire on Whitehorse Lane, South Norwood this morning (January 26).
Ground and First Floors Heavily Damaged
The fire tore through half of the ground floor and most of the first floor of the terraced property, leaving significant damage in its wake.
Three Escape, One Man Hospitalised
Three residents managed to flee before firefighters arrived and were treated by London Ambulance crews on the spot. One man was rushed to hospital for further care.
Quick Response Quells Fire Within Hours
- The Brigade received 12 emergency calls about the blaze.
- Firefighters from West Norwood, Woodside, and Norbury stations were on the scene.
- The fire was reported at 7:54am and brought under control by 9:06am.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
