East Malling Flats Remain In Police Lockdown After A Serious Incident And Significant Damages

A large Police cordon remains in place and along a grass area at the rear of a block of flats on Catlyn Close in East Malling.

Officers from Kent Police were called to a property on the ground floor has the rear windows and doors blown out and smashed front windows. Two officers and a Police car remain parked on the green.

Scene of Crime specialists have been seen at the property taking images of the damage along with housing inspectors.

A pass-by claimed that a boiler fault had caused the damage but those involved were uninjured.

A woman in a dressing gown who asked not to be named made a claim that it was her house and she had lost everything.

A neighbour said that the family living at the property has a very young baby living at the property but refuses to expand on how the damage happened.

Kent Police and Kent fire and rescue have been approached for comment
