Drug Dealer Busted After Daring Police Chase in Kettering

Nicked Following Police Pursuit

Nicholas Thomas, once of Horsenden Crescent, Ealing, London, was arrested on January 5 after fleeing from officers during a stop on Meadow Road, Kettering. The men from Northamptonshire Police’s Operation Revive squad were hot on his heels and caught up with him nearby.

Crack Cocaine and Cannabis Found

Thomas was searched under Section 23 of the Misuse of Drugs Act and found in possession of Class A crack cocaine, along with Class B cannabis. He was promptly charged with possession with intent to supply.

Locked Up for 30 Months

Appearing at Northampton Magistrates’ Court on January 6, Thomas pled guilty straight away. On March 30, Northampton Crown Court handed him a 30-month detention sentence for the crack cocaine offence, plus 10 weeks concurrent for cannabis possession. He was also slapped with a £228 victim surcharge.

Police Say Community Tips Made the Difference

PC Joshua Unsworth, who led the probe, said: “I’m pleased with the sentence. Let this be a warning to anyone thinking of peddling drugs in Northamptonshire – we won’t tolerate it.”

“Thanks to intelligence from the community, along with the work of my colleague PC Harry Cory and our analyst, we took another dealer off the streets.”

Operation Revive Tackles Drug-Fuelled Violence

Launched last May by Chief Constable Nick Adderley, Operation Revive targets serious violence tied to Class A drugs and gangs. Alongside tackling violence against women and organised crime, cutting drug harm is a top priority for Northamptonshire Police.
