Baby Killer Nurse Letby Breaks Down in Court – Denies All Charges
Nurse Lucy Letby, 33, burst into tears as she faced court for the first time during her murder trial. She vehemently denied all 22 charges against her, insisting her nursing job at Countess of Chester Hospital was her life’s passion.
Letby Claims She Loved Her Job and Cared for Babies
The nurse, who dreamed of working with children and trained hard to become a nurse, called the allegations “sickening.” She told the court she never harmed any babies under her care between 2015 and 2016. “I was the first in my family to attend university and I valued my career highly,” she said, adding that she looked after hundreds of babies safely.
Prosecution Alleges Horrifying Baby Attacks
But prosecutors claim Letby deliberately targeted infants by injecting air and poisoning some with insulin. Detectives found disturbing notes at her home, which Letby said she wrote during a tough mental health struggle to express her feelings.
Traumatised Nurse Speaks of PTSD and Suicidal Thoughts
Letby admitted the shock of being arrested in her pyjamas on suspicion of murder and attempted murder was the “scariest thing” she’s ever faced. Following her arrest, she was diagnosed with PTSD and continues to get psychological help. She also revealed the trauma left her battling suicidal thoughts.
The chilling trial continues.
