Gun-Toting Gangster Jahmaine Watson Locked Up for Over Seven Years

Jahmaine Watson, 34, from Denaby, was snapped up by cops in June 2023 after his DNA was found on the trigger of a converted revolver. The gun, along with a pistol and ammunition, was seized from a Denaby home during a drugs warrant.

Guns and Drugs Hidden in Plain Sight

The loaded firearms were stashed in a hallway cupboard, alongside a haul of drugs. Watson was linked to the notorious ‘Pitsmoor Shotta Boys’ gang before his arrest. He was immediately remanded in custody.

Sheffield Crown Court Deals Heavy Blow to PSB Crime Boss

On 30 November 2023, Watson pled guilty to possession of a prohibited firearm and ammo. Yesterday (4 January), Sheffield Crown Court sentenced him to seven years and two months behind bars.

Detective Chief Inspector Tony Slater said: “This was a lengthy investigation requiring meticulous forensic work that has jailed a key member of an organised crime group.”

“The PSB have caused misery in our communities, so I hope locals share our relief that Watson is off the streets for a long time.”

“Watson’s DNA was found on a loaded firearm hidden in a typical suburban home cupboard. Firearms cause terror, injury, and death – removing these weapons is a huge win for public safety.”

Police Urge Public to Help End Gun Crime

DCI Slater stressed the case stemmed from an intelligence-led drugs raid and urged the public to keep coming forward with tips.

“We won’t rest until every illegal firearm is off our streets. Think you’re above the law? You’re not – you will be caught.”

“Public information is crucial. By working together, we can smash these criminal networks and make our communities safer.”

Another Man Jailed in Same Raid

The DNA of Taylor Blackburn, 24, from Rotherham, was also found on one of the guns at the Denaby address in December 2022. Blackburn was charged with possession of a prohibited firearm and received a five-year jail term in November 2023.

Watson faced two more charges over possession of firearms and ammo, but these were ordered to lie on file.
