Metropolitan Police officers discovered a man’s body during a search on Launders Lane at 8:20am this morning (October 18).
Search Triggered by Missing Person Case
The investigation began after Essex Police contacted the Met on October 16 about a missing person. The case was officially handed to the Metropolitan Police on October 17.
Road Closures and Ongoing Enquiries
Launders Lane remains closed both ways between Lambs Lane and Wennington Road. Officers have also blocked the entrance from New Road while enquiries continue.
A Met spokesperson said: “The body of a man has been recovered from Launders Lane, Rainham. The man was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. Enquiries are underway to identify the man and to inform his next of kin.”
