A 32-year-old woman from Newcastle-under-Lyme has been hit with multiple fraud charges over the alleged sale of Oasis concert tickets.
Rosie Slater faces 11 counts of fraud by false representation linked to ticket sales for Oasis gigs scheduled in May 2025. She’s been handed unconditional bail and will appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on December 11.
Ticketmaster Under Fire for Ticket Pricing Tricks
The scandal follows a Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) probe into Ticketmaster’s controversial handling of Oasis tickets in 2024.
- The watchdog discovered fans waiting online weren’t told that standing tickets came in two price tiers.
- Prices jumped sharply after cheaper tickets sold out, but this wasn’t made clear to buyers.
- “Platinum” tickets were priced at nearly 2.5 times the normal rate with no added perks, covering the same venue areas.
New Rules to Crack Down on Ticket Resale Rippers
As a result, Ticketmaster must now give customers at least 24 hours’ warning when using tiered pricing, like with Oasis shows.
This comes as ministers pledge to outlaw ticket reselling at inflated prices for concerts, theatre, comedy, sports, and more — protecting fans from rip-offs once and for all.
