Tractor Horror in Alverstone: Person Trapped Under Heavy Vehicle
Emergency crews rushed to Kern Lane, Alverstone, this afternoon after a shocking incident left a person trapped under a tractor.
Rapid Response from Fire, Police and Air Ambulance
At around 12:25pm, Hampshire & Isle of Wight Fire and Rescue scrambled two fire engines from Ryde and one from Shanklin. Police and ambulance teams were also on scene in minutes. The Kent Surrey and Sussex Air Ambulance touched down nearby to aid the rescue.
Injured Victim Freed and Airlifted to Hospital
The incident happened on a rough track off Kern Lane towards Brading Down. The victim, conscious but with serious arm injuries, was trapped beneath the tractor.
Crews worked swiftly to free the casualty and secure the heavy farm machinery. The injured person was seen being loaded into the air ambulance which departed at about 12:33pm for Southampton General Hospital’s Trauma Unit.
