London Ambulance Service Mourns Beloved Veteran Frank Jacobson
35 Years of Dedication Ends
Tragedy struck the London Ambulance Service as Frank Jacobson passed away on Saturday, June 25th, after a long battle with illness. Frank dedicated over 35 years to saving lives across the capital.
From Ambulance Man to Respected Leader
Frank joined the service in November 1986 as an “Ambulance Man,” starting his career at City and Hackney stations. By 1991, he was a Qualified Ambulance Technician at Westminster Ambulance Station. His hard work paid off with a promotion to Leading Ambulance Man, moving on to serve in Camden.
Frank’s career spanned multiple roles including resources and duty officer duties at numerous stations citywide. His commitment made him a well-known and respected figure among colleagues.
Retired, But Returned to Help
Though he retired in 2017, Frank swiftly came back part-time as a Resource Coordinator, proving his passion didn’t fade. Outside the job, he volunteered as a Senior LINC Worker, supporting fellow staff, and served on the benevolent fund committee.
Family Man at Heart
Frank leaves behind his wife, Kate, and five children: Victoria, Niamh, Mollie, Dan, and Jack. He also adored his two grandchildren, Mylah and Taylan.
“Despite being a quiet family man, he was well-known throughout the Service. Our hearts go out to his family, friends, and colleagues at this difficult time.”
