Newcastle Woman Busted Over Fake Oasis Tickets
A 32-year-old woman from Newcastle-under-Lyme, Rosie Slater, has been slammed with 11 fraud charges linked to the dodgy sale of Oasis concert tickets.
Slater allegedly sold fake tickets for gigs set for May 2025. She’s been granted unconditional bail and is due to appear at North Staffordshire Justice Centre on December 11.
Ticketmaster Slammed for Sneaky Oasis Ticket Pricing
The scandal comes hot on the heels of a Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) probe into Ticketmaster’s controversial handling of Oasis tickets in 2024.
- Fans queued online but weren’t told there were two price tiers for standing tickets.
- Once cheaper tickets sold out, prices jumped sharply—but buyers weren’t warned.
- “Platinum” tickets cost almost 2.5 times more than regular ones, yet offered no extra perks, despite covering the same spots.
New Rules to Smash Ticket Resale Scams
Following the probe, Ticketmaster must now give at least 24 hours’ notice when using tiered pricing like for Oasis shows.
Ministers have also vowed to crack down hard on ticket reselling at inflated prices across concerts, theatre, comedy, and sports. The aim? To protect fans from greedy scalpers once and for all.
