Blade Swing Sparks Panic Outside Asda
On 9 May 2025, knife crime officers on patrol in Radford Road, Hyson Green, spotted two suspects. When approached, 20-year-old Jordan Bazuna sprinted towards the Asda store, pulling a machete from his trouser leg. In full view of shoppers, Bazuna swung the massive blade backwards at a pursuing officer. Luckily, the officer dodged the attack without injury.
Drugs, Cash and More Weapons Found on the Run
Bazuna dropped the machete near parked cars while trying to escape and was quickly arrested. Police recovered the machete and found heroin wraps, cannabis, and cash inside a discarded man bag. A subsequent raid on his Constance Street flat uncovered further evidence of drug dealing.
Four Years Behind Bars for Bazuna
Bazuna pleaded guilty to possessing a knife in public and intent to supply heroin at Lincoln Crown Court, just as his trial was about to start. On 16 December, Nottingham Crown Court sentenced him to four years in a young offender institution.

The second suspect, a 17-year-old boy, was also found carrying a knife tucked into his waistband. He admitted knife possession and was handed a youth rehabilitation order at Nottingham Magistrates’ Court on 18 June 2025.
