Tragic Death of Student Tom Dingle Sparks Heartfelt Fundraiser
Family and friends of 19-year-old Tom Dingle are mourning the loss of the Lancaster University philosophy student, whose body was found in Dalton woodland on Christmas Day. Lancashire Police have ruled out suspicious circumstances, passing the case to HM Coroner.
Honouring Tom with a Royal British Legion Fundraiser
Determined to keep Tom’s memory alive, his loved ones have launched a JustGiving page to raise funds for the Royal British Legion (RBL), a cause they say was close to Tom’s heart. Tom had big dreams of joining the Parachute Regiment after graduation.
“Tom was an incredibly intelligent and caring young man who had his whole life ahead of him. Tom’s death has left a hole in our hearts which will never be filled. Christmas, and life as a whole, will never be the same without our Tom,” the family said.
“To honour Tom’s memory, we as a family and Tom’s friends wish to raise money for the Royal British Legion. This is a charity very close to us, and we know it is what Tom would have wanted.”
Community Rallying Behind Tom’s Family
The family thanked police, Mountain Rescue teams, and the community for their support during this heartbreaking time. Tom’s funeral was held privately, with only close family and friends in attendance, and his family has asked for privacy as they grieve.
Supporters wishing to pay tribute to Tom and donate can visit the JustGiving fundraiser page set up in his memory.
