Top Cop Blasts ‘School War’ Social Media Madness
Senior Met Police boss Luke Dillon, who took over Croydon’s local policing in August 2025, has slammed viral chatter about a so-called “school war”. The posts reportedly urge pupils to carry weapons and target rival schools, sparking panic among parents across the borough.
Croydon Cops Crack Down on School Violence Threats
“We are aware of posts urging pupils to arm themselves and clash with other schools,” Dillon said. The Met is working hand-in-hand with every school in Croydon. They’ve rolled out a new policing plan to boost patrols, especially at school pickup times.
“We will respond firmly to any violence or disorder,” Dillon promised. Dozens of threatening social media accounts linked to these posts have been swiftly shut down.
Parents Urged to Stay Vigilant and Report Suspicious Activity
If you hear about planned trouble — whether you know specific schools, dates, or locations — police want to hear from you immediately. Dial 101 for information or 999 if it’s an emergency.
“I will keep you appraised of any significant developments in the coming days,” Superintendent Dillon added.
