Kirklees Safeguarding officers are urgently appealing for information after a woman was reportedly raped by a man she met during a night out in Huddersfield town centre.

Suspect Description and Timeline

The suspect is described as South East Asian, aged between 22 and 26, of medium build, about 5ft 5in tall, with brown eyes, short brown hair, and a beard.

The victim met the man around 2am on Sunday near McDonald’s on John William Street, where he offered to help her get home. The pair then left town via Cross Church Street, stopping at a 24-hour shop on Colne Street.

Where the Attack Happened

The assault took place between 3am and 4:30am on fields near the University of Huddersfield campus, close to the Barbara Hepworth building. The attacker left the victim at the scene after the offence.
