Police have launched a murder probe after an elderly man was found dead at a Camden home.
82-Year-Old Found Dead in NW6
Officers rushed to West End Lane, NW6, after welfare concerns were raised for an 82-year-old man at around 11:25am on Thursday, 5 March. Paramedics confirmed the man had died at the scene.
Man, 53, Arrested at Scene
Minutes after arriving, police detained a 53-year-old man inside the property on suspicion of murder. He is currently in custody while detectives probe the case.
Police Seek Witnesses as Post-Mortem Planned
A post-mortem will determine the exact cause of death. Authorities are also working to inform the victim’s family.
“A team of detectives are working quickly to establish the full picture surrounding this man’s death,” said Chief Superintendent Jason Stewart, who heads policing in the area. “At this time, officers are treating this as an isolated incident with no risk to the wider community. We ask anyone who was around West End Lane at this time, who may have seen or heard anything unusual, to speak to us.”
