A man who savagely attacked his former co-worker with a metal bar, fracturing the victim’s skull, has been locked up for four and a half years.

Chilling CCTV Shows Pre-Attack Prep

In the early hours of 1 December 2024, Javier De Brito Jardim, 36, was caught on CCTV wrapping himself in a white sheet on Cannon Street. Apparently thinking it would help him avoid detection, Jardim then made his way to Poultry in the City of London, where his victim worked.

Frenzied Assault Outside Victim’s Workplace

Jardim lay in wait before launching a violent attack. He struck the victim repeatedly with an iron bar, also punching and kicking him. The victim managed a desperate escape and called the police.

Hospital scans revealed a fractured skull and a brain bleed, requiring surgery.

Work Dispute Sparked the Attack, Victim Says

The victim told police he suspected Jardim was behind the assault due to a bitter work dispute. Jardim had been drinking on the job and was warned in mid-November. He believed the victim reported him to supervisors.
